Curiosity has shaped how I see the world.

As a kid, I used up every piece of paper in the house, so my mom let me paint on the underside of the furniture instead. I’ve been noticing, making, and rearranging the world ever since.

I still stop to study interesting trees, textures, flowers, and anything unfamiliar. That same curiosity is probably why I’ve always loved art direction: the details are never just details.

Studying with Parsons in France only reinforced it. One day, a private beach asked our group to sketch the setting. Mine was selected and I learned that curiosity, observation, and a little nerve can go a long way.
